Create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and greet everyone entering Freedom Church

Responsibilities:

  • Give everyone entering the doors a genuine warm welcome (smile, handshake, high-five, hug as natural)
  • Provide every individual/family with a weekly bulletin
  • Be prepared to assist first time visitors (coffee, bathrooms, kid’s church or sanctuary)
  • Direct people with questions to a pastor or proper knowledgeable person
  • Remain committed and focused on greeting and limit distractions

Expectations:

  • Must be a devout follower of Jesus
  • People oriented, friendly, outgoing and personable
  • Cheerful, warm and easy to approach
  • Knowledgeable of locations within the building
  • Be well groomed and presentably dressed
  • Must be dedicated to Freedom Church while serving on team
  • Have a teachable attitude

Time Commitment:

  • Show up 15-20 minutes before service starts, and up until after the connection time during service. This is after the first worship song is played.

Help people feel welcomed and loved though a delicious hot cup of coffee

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and brew coffee in peculators and fill airpots
  • Set up and stock coffee bar with cup and condiment caddies
  • Heat water for tea and hot chocolate
  • In the warm months prepare lemonade
  • Rotate percolators
  • 1st service: Leave area stocked and cleaned
  • 2nd service: Clean up and put away

Expectations:

  • Have a kind and loving servant’s heart
  • Have a teachable attitude during training and always follow the order and procedure that is in place
  • Pursue excellence while serving in the ministry

Time Commitment:

  • 1st service: Arrive between 7:30am and no later than 7:45am
    • Done by 9:20am
  • 2nd service: Arrive at 10:30am
    • The end time may vary. Many volunteers serving 2nd service attend the 1st service, rotate the coffee at 10:30am and are usually done cleaning up and storing by 11:30am. If you prefer to serve for the service you attend you may always clean up after 2nd service.

Help ensure a smoothly-running church service. The specific responsibilities of an usher are very important, and vary from Sunday to Sunday.

Responsibilities:

  • Minimize distractions during sermon
  • When seating becomes limited, find empty seating and usher guests to seats. This may require asking people to fill open seating between each other or move down a seat on the row to make room for others.
  • Lead usher is in charge of finding 4 people for the service to assist with taking up offering
  • Collect offering
  • Record attendance for adult service as well as Freedom Kid\’s on the 3rd floor
  • Empty offering baskets sort and place in safe
  • Clean up any spills on floors
  • Answer general questions for guests

Expectations:

  • Have a kind and loving servant’s heart
  • Have a teachable attitude during training and always follow the order and procedure that is in place
  • Pursue excellence while serving in the ministry
  • Be prepared to perform a task outside of description when asked by a pastor or volunteer leader

Time Commitment:

  • Show up 15 minutes before service starts

Provide needed transportation for 9am service and other church functions

Responsibilities:

  • To begin route on time and be sure to stop at every pickup
  • Ensure vehicle is clean after every use
  • Ensure the vehicle is operated in a safe and legal manner at all times
  • Drivers are responsible for safety and behavior of passengers

Expectations:

  • Should pursue excellence while on this team
  • Must have a teachable attitude and be able to take instruction from a pastor
  • Have a valid driver’s license
  • Have a clean driving record

Time Commitment:

  • Must begin route by 8am. This requires being at the vehicle 10-15 minutes prior to 8am in the winter months to warm up vehicle and remove snow and ice from windows
  • Must take time to take all passengers back to pickup point

Help provide a receiving, learning, non-distracting atmosphere for worship and the message through the visual presentation

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate visual program (ProPresenter) for Sunday Service
  • Help provide any other visual needs that the worship leader, pastor, or guest speaker might need
  • Help identify and provide solution to any problem with ProPresenter and video productions that may come up before or during service
  • Respond to the Planning Center requests that are sent to you

Expectations:

  • Must be dedicated to Freedom Church while serving on this team
  • Must be willing to learn how the computer program ProPresenter works, and to set up and use the computer and cords
  • Should be able to be adaptable with the slide presentation, this includes finding songs on the fly that are not on the set list or being able to pull up a new scripture that is not listed in the sermon
  • Respond to Planning Center requests that are sent to you
  • Must be technologically savvy to be able to problem solve computer issues
  • Must be attentive during the Sunday Service to know exactly when to move forward with a slide or play a video
  • Should pursue excellence in this position
  • Should work for the betterment of the team and honor other team members and pastors
  • Must have a teachable attitude and be able to take instructions from a pastor, sound leader or worship leader

Time Commitment:

  • One Sunday service will last about 1.5 hours
  • You will need to arrive Sunday around 8:30am for 1st service or 10:30am for 2nd service (a half hour before service starts)

Help provide a non-distracting atmosphere for God’s presence by operating our soundboard equipment

Responsibilities:

  • Come to Sunday Service early to set up sound needs on stage before worship team arrives to practice
  • Have all sound needs taken care of before service
  • Equip all mics and monitors with fresh batteries as well as charge them after 2nd service
  • Operate the sound board during the service
  • Respond to Planning Center requests in timely manner
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose concerns and problems with the sound equipment and sound board

Expectations:

  • Must be dedicated to Freedom Church while serving on this team
  • Should pursue excellence while on this team
  • Must have a teachable attitude and be able to take instructions from a pastor, sound tech leader or worship leader
  • Should work for the betterment of the team and honor other team members and pastors
  • Be dedicated to the Freedom Church vision
  • Must be educated on how soundboards work, how the sound system is set up and how the voices and instruments should sound
  • Must be electronically savvy to problem solve wiring issues
  • Have the ability to remain calm when worship practice is running long or there are problems with the sound board or sound system

Time Commitment:

  • One Freedom Church service day will last about 2.5 hours
  • You would need to arrive at 7:45am for 1st service and 10:30am for 2nd service

Prepare sanctuary and entrance areas before 1st service

Responsibilities:

  • Sweep/mop foyer floor
  • Clean front windows
  • Clean sidewalks outside entrances and sidewalks leading up to entrances

Expectations:

  • Should pursue excellence while serving
  • Must have a teachable attitude and be willing to take instructions from a pastor or member of building and maintenance team
  • Should work for the betterment of the team
  • Be dedicated to Freedom Church and its vision

Time Commitment:

  • Must show up at 8am

Prepare and perform music for leading the congregation in praise and worship by creating a passionate, exhilarating and intimate time with the Lord

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to Planning Center requests to be part of the worship team in a timely manner
  • Be on time to weekly rehearsals and Sunday morning practices
  • Come prepared (instrument/equipment needed)
  • With the exception of keys, vocals and drums you must bring your own instrument

Expectations:

  • Must be a devout follower and worshipper of Jesus
  • Be proficient and experienced as a vocalist or with an instrument
  • Faithfully attend Sunday services at Freedom for at least 3 months before getting involved on the worship team
  • Must be dedicated to Freedom Church and pursue excellence while serving on this team
  • Must have teachable attitude and be able to take instructions from a pastor, sound leader or worship leader
  • Work for the betterment of the team and honor other team members and pastors
  • Be dedicated to the Freedom Church vision

Time Commitment:

  • If on the worship team, you must arrive at the church by 7:45am and be prepared to stay until 12:45pm
  • Attend weekly rehearsals (typically Wednesday evenings)

Assist with the setting up, serving during, and tearing down for church events

Responsibilities:

  • Set up tables and chairs when needed
  • Food ordering and preparation
  • Food set up
  • Serve and assist church and community during events
  • Tear down and assist with clean up after events
  • Responsibilities may vary by event

Expectations:

  • Must be dedicated to the Freedom Church vision while serving on team
  • Should pursue excellence while on this team
  • Must have teachable attitude and be willing to take instruction from a pastor or team leader
  • Should work for the betterment of the team and honor other team members, church members, and pastors
  • Be dedicated to the Freedom Church vision

Time Commitment:

  • Time commitments vary by event
  • Must show up when signed up for event or non-profit volunteering and stay for entirety of event if possible
